Valspar Expands Presence in Brazil's General Industrial Market
AGCO Supplier Day event introduces Valspar to large supplier network
Valspar has taken a big step forward in expanding its General Industrial business in Brazil recently by becoming an AGCO-approved supplier in that country.
AGCO, a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of agricultural equipment, is a major player in Brazil. The heavy machinery giant has given Valspar approval to provide liquid, powder, e-coat coatings and aftermarket paint products for use on AGCO equipment, which represents a significant sales opportunity.
"We're thrilled about getting AGCO's approval," said Michel Costa, Valspar General Industrial business director in South America. "This gives Valspar much stronger industry presence in Brazil's heavy machinery market and opens the door to working with many more partners in the region."
For the first time, Valspar was able to participate in AGCO's invitation-only Supplier Day on March 22 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, giving us the chance to showcase our products and talk to the 700 attendees about our capabilities. Valspar representatives also took part in high-level meetings with AGCO and other approved suppliers to review 2016 goals and business plans.
Valspar has existing relationships with many of the other suppliers and subcontractors who attended. But until now, they were not able to buy Valspar coatings for AGCO parts that they supply.
"We're excited to show AGCO and its suppler network in Brazil the quality, performance and durability of our products, while providing strong value and unmatched service and support," Aaron Wagner, Valspar's AGCO Global Account Manager said.
The Valspar team who participated in AGCO's Supplier Day included (L to R): Luis Ferrari, business manager; Fabio Marques, business manager; Aaron Wagner; Michel Costa, business director; Marcia Morikawa; R&D manager; and Rafael Silva, account manager.
AGCO, based in Duluth, Georgia, supports more productive farming through a full line of tractors, combines, hay tools, sprayers, forage equipment, grain storage and protein production systems, seeding and tillage implements and replacement parts.
